Organize clothes and donate what doesn’t fit, doesn’t match, etc.īreak things into time blocks that fit well for YOUR family.

Empty closet if possible, *I know this is a big job, I was overwhelmed but really glad once I saw how dirty it was).

Vacuum under beds and between mattresses.

For kids, get rid of toys that aren’t used.

Check lint trap and the hose connected to wall (ours had MAJOR lint, the potential for fire, and we empty the trap often).

Wash the shower curtains, replace liners if needed.

Scrub the tub and wipe along shower inset, check for needed caulking.

Scrub toilet, (Borax works great), checking seals etc.

Empty and vacuum out cabinets, organize.

Wipe computer keyboards and phones with an antibacterial wipe.

Notice areas that need touch up paint or minor repair work.

Check light bulbs, take note of what is needed.

Clean out water heater closet, check for needed maintenance.

Mop, making sure to get the corners under cabinets.

Take curtains outside, shake well and put in the dryer on tumble dry for a few minutes.

Check freezer, organize with these ideas.

Empty and clean out the inside of the fridge.

Clean inside of the microwave, hereis an easy tip.

Wipe out and organize cupboards, purge where necessary.

Organize and label supplies, here is what I did (Another big job but was worth it).

Sort shoes and coats, get rid of outgrown things and organize what’s left.

Spring cleaning the Linen and Coat Closets:

Clean out any drawers, organize easily and cheaply with ideas from here.

Take curtains outside, shake well, and put in the dryer on tumble dry for a few minutes.

Empty out and vacuum and baskets/containers.

Vacuum behind the entertainment center, carefully wiping down the TV on the front and back.

Dust shelves completely, removing items and getting the tops.

If leather, wipe backs of couches with a damp cloth.

Dust lampshades with a fresh damp cloth, and (unplugged) the lamp fixture.

If needed, spot clean or wash cases for throw pillows.

Vacuum and clean out between and under furniture cushions.

Wipe all switch plates down with cleaner.

If there is carpet, use a steam cleaner.

While screens are drying, clean outer windows.

Take down outer screens, clean with a fine hose spray and soapy water (Note any areas that need to be patched).

Use vinegar and water solution to clean windows, drying with crumpled newspapers or rags.

Wash interior window- Start by vacuuming sills, washing them with soapy water.

Vacuum ceiling fans well and dust with pledge, check light bulbs if replacements needed.

Change rags often to keep from spreading dust.

Move things and wipe down all baseboards with a damp rag (Take note of any areas that need touch up work) Thesework great for scuffs as well.

Wipe switch plates, as well as the doors.

Wash mirrors/ wipe down frames with a damp rag.

Remove furniture pieces, wipe them down, and clean.
